Piecewise Polynomial Predistorter for Power Amplifier

ABSTRACT In this paper, we propose a novel predistortion scheme, in which multiple polynomials are used to predistort the input signal instead of a single one, by dividing input signal range into several regions. The recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm is used for optimizing process to minimize the errors between input of predistorter and the output of amplifier. From the simulation results investigated in this paper, the piecewise polynomial predistortion shows its superior performance than a conventional single polynomial based predistortion.
